EPR in Germany for your online store
Registration, compliance scheme, reports and authorised representative in Germany for packaging, electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and single-use plastics.
In short
Germany enforces EPR through public registers: LUCID for packaging, Stiftung EAR for electrical equipment and batteries, and DIVID for single-use plastics. Marketplaces check those registers and block anyone who is not listed.
All included in Germany: registration, compliance scheme, reports and, if your company has no establishment there, an authorised representative. Categories: packaging, electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and single-use plastics.

Worth knowing
- For electrical equipment and batteries, a company without an establishment in Germany can only register through an authorised representative, included in the service.
- Dual systems are contracted in advance based on the expected kilos and settled at year end.
- Since 2025 the single-use plastics fund levies products such as cups, takeaway food containers, wet wipes and balloons.

Frequently asked questions
What is LUCID?
Germany's central packaging register. Every company that puts packaging into the hands of German consumers, shipping boxes included, must be registered and have a contract with a dual system. Without registration, you cannot sell.
I sell electronics with stock in Germany. What do I need?
WEEE registration with Stiftung EAR through an authorised representative, registration of each brand and device type, a guarantee and monthly reports. If the product contains batteries, battery registration too.
What is DIVID?
The platform of the German single-use plastics fund. Anyone placing certain disposable plastic products on the German market registers and reports the quantities every year.
