Local taxes in Alicante
- Individuals (sole traders) do not pay the IAE business tax, nobody pays it in their first two years of activity, and neither do companies with a turnover below one million euros. Local IAE reliefs therefore only matter to companies above that figure.
- Property tax (IBI) 2026: new businesses in the city get 95% relief in the first year, 50% in the second and 30% in the third.
- ICIO (building works tax): 75% relief for new businesses in the city and 95% if they set up on vacant industrial land.
- Activity licence fee: €201.57 for premises of up to 100 m².
Business support and grants
As of October 2026 there is no municipal call for new freelancers or businesses. The Bono Comercio 2026 is a consumer scheme starting on 26 October. ImpulsAlicante processes company formation at its Entrepreneur Service Point.
