Sell on the Shein marketplace. With VAT on every sale declared correctly.
Shein collects on your behalf, but you are the seller: registration, VAT on each sale, the fees, the accounts, EPR and what Shein reports to the Spanish Tax Agency.
In short
Shein opened its marketplace to sellers in Spain in August 2024. In the EU it is operated by Infinite Styles Services, from Ireland. You are the seller: Shein collects on your behalf, prices include all taxes and VAT on your sales is yours to declare.
The obligations are those of any marketplace: registration, VAT on your sales with the OSS once you pass the EU threshold, VAT on the fees, gross-amount accounting, EPR and DAC7.
What's included for Shein sellers
Registration and company
Shein asks for the company's registration documents and tax details. Tax registration and, if needed, the VAT number.
VAT on your sales
You are the seller: Spanish VAT and, from €10,000 a year in sales to other EU countries, the customer's country VAT through the OSS.
OSS and IOSS →Shein fees
If its Irish company invoices them, no VAT with the ROI and self-assessment on Forms 303 and 349. Checked on the first invoice.
Accounting
Sales at their gross amount, fees and refunds as expenses, and each payout reconciled with the bank.
EPR
The packaging and product registrations that Germany, France or Spain require from anyone selling there.
EPR in 7 countries →DAC7
Shein reports your sales to the Spanish Tax Agency if you reach 30 sales or exceed €2,000 a year. Your returns should say the same.
What it reports →What Shein's terms say
| Point | What they say | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Who sells | The contract is between the customer and the seller; Shein is not a party | You invoice and declare the VAT on the sale |
| Collection | Shein collects payment on behalf of the seller | The net receipt isn't the sale: it is booked at the gross amount |
| Prices | Must include all taxes | Price with the VAT of the right country for each sale |
| Shipping | Done by a Shein group company, unless you ship yourself | That service is one more expense, with its invoice |

Frequently asked questions
Can companies in Spain sell on Shein?
Yes. Shein opened its marketplace to sellers in Spain on 2 August 2024, to sell to customers across Europe. In the EU it is operated by Infinite Styles Services Co., Ltd, an Irish company based in Dublin.
Who is the seller to the customer: Shein or me?
You. Under Shein's terms, the sale contract is between the customer and the seller, Shein is not a party, it collects payment on the seller's behalf, and prices must include all taxes. That's why VAT on your sales is yours to declare.
Does Shein collect VAT on my sales for me?
Not if your company is in the EU. The law only makes the marketplace the deemed supplier for imports up to €150 and for sales within the EU by sellers from outside the EU. A seller in Spain declares VAT on its sales, and the customer's country VAT through the OSS once it passes €10,000 a year in sales to other EU countries.
Do Shein's fees include VAT?
Shein doesn't publish how it invoices its fees. If its Irish company invoices you, with the ROI registration they should come without VAT, and you self-assess on Forms 303 and 349. Check the issuer and the VAT on your first invoice before booking it.
Does Shein report my sales to the Spanish Tax Agency?
As a platform established in the EU, DAC7 requires it to report its sellers' sales: every January, if you reach 30 sales or exceed €2,000 in the year. Shein already asks for your tax details when you sign up.
Do I need EPR registrations to sell on Shein?
Yes, where the law requires them from anyone selling there, such as Germany or France, and in Spain for packaging. Shein explains these obligations in the seller portal.
