How to avoid paying VAT on Facebook Ads and Google Ads with an intra-EU VAT number
Facebook (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd) and Google (Google Ireland Ltd) invoice from Ireland. If you do not have a validated intra-EU VAT number, they charge you 21% Irish VAT that you cannot deduct.
What is the ROI?
The Register of Intra-EU Operators (Form 036, box 582) gives you a VAT number valid for transactions within the EU. Once registered and validated in the VIES system, Meta and Google invoice without VAT.
How is it booked?
The VAT-free invoice is recorded as an intra-EU acquisition of services. You self-assess the VAT (21%) and deduct it at the same time, with a neutral effect on the quarterly return.
How much do I save?
If you spend €1,000 a month on advertising, you stop paying €210 a month of non-deductible VAT. Over a year, that is €2,520.
At DPL Asesores we process the ROI registration in 48 hours. Request it.
